Our journey began with a simple observation from our CEO Andres' diverse experience across startups, scaleups, and enterprises: every company faces unique challenges when it comes to providing their team with IT equipment, and these challenges evolve as organizations grow.

For startups, the main hurdle is flexibility. When you're building something new, cash flow can be unpredictable, making it difficult to commit to large equipment purchases. When employees use their personal devices for work, they're accessing sensitive company data on equipment that isn't properly secured. This blend of personal devices and one-off retail purchases creates security risks and becomes unsustainable as companies grow.

As companies scale to 100+ employees, a different challenge emerges: keeping track of devices becomes increasingly complex. We've seen many growing companies struggle to answer basic questions like "Who has which laptop?" or "When did we last upgrade our design team's equipment?"

Even established enterprises, despite having well-defined processes, face their own set of challenges. While their systems work efficiently from an administrative perspective, they often create friction with employees who feel restricted by rigid device policies that don't always align with their needs.

The rise of remote work has added another layer of complexity to this puzzle. With talented team members spread across the globe, IT and HR teams now need to navigate international procurement, manage cross-border logistics, and maintain accurate inventory records - all while ensuring their team members have the tools they need to do their best work.

Having worked extensively with internal IT systems and international logistics, we saw an opportunity to solve these challenges. After countless conversations with companies facing these exact problems, we built Raal to make device management simpler, more flexible, and better suited to how modern teams work.
